My great-grandparents emigrated from the Netherlands to the US, and my Dutch heritage was always in the background of my childhood. I played dress up with wooden shoes and my crayon drawings were full of tulips. So after my husband and I visited in 2024, we decided to move to the Netherlands on the Dutch-American Friendship Treaty (DAFT) visa. Six months after moving, here are the things I'd do differently if I could turn back the clock.
