I love stocking up on my favorite grocery staples at Aldi. Kachelle Pratcher I've been shopping at Aldi my entire life and buy most of my grocery staples there. For breakfast, I always grab Chobani yogurt, honey-wheat bread, and Goldhen eggs. When I need an easy dinner, I get Mama Cozzi's take-and-bake pizza or a Giovanni Rana pasta dish. Aldi has been a staple in my family for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, my family went there for great deals on store-brand items. But now that I'm an adult, I visit the store every two weeks to stock up on a mix of my favorite Aldi products and name-brand options. As a single woman who works full-time as a TV news producer and teaches journalism part-time, I don't do a ton of cooking. But luckily, I'm always able to find quick meals and reasonably priced snacks at Aldi . Here are 11 items that are almost always in my cart. Prices may vary by location. I think the Goldhen large eggs are a great value. Kachelle Pratcher During my most recent visit, I got a dozen large Goldhen eggs for $1.46, which I thought was a great price. I like to scramble them on weekday mornings and hard-boil a batch on Sundays for easy grab-and-go protein during the week. Chobani Greek yogurt is my favorite weekday breakfast. Kachelle Pratcher Chobani Greek yogurt is one of my favorite brand-name items to get at Aldi. The pineapple and mango Fruit on the Bottom flavors are my go-to options. I use the Little Salad Bar spinach in everything. Kachelle Pratcher Whenever I'm at Aldi, I grab an 8-ounce bag of Little Salad Bar spinach for $1.90. I add some to smoothies, omelets, pasta, and more. L'Oven Fresh honey-wheat bread is the only variety I buy. Kachelle Pratcher Growing up, my mom and grandma always kept a loaf of honey-wheat bread on top of the fridge. And now, I buy the L'Oven Fresh version to keep in my home. I use it for toast in the mornings and quick turkey sandwiches when I'm packing lunch. Mama Cozzi's take-and-bake pizza makes for the perfect Friday night dinner. Kachelle Pratcher When I have a night to myself, I pop a Mama Cozzi's take-and-bake frozen pizza in the oven. Sometimes, I even pour myself a glass of wine while it cooks. It's done in about 15 minutes, and, in my opinion, it's one of the easiest dinner options from the store. I save money by grabbing a container of Panera Bread broccoli-cheddar soup at Aldi. Kachelle Pratcher At Aldi, I can get a container of Panera Bread broccoli-cheddar soup for just $3.40. However, a cup of the same soup at the restaurant chain typically costs closer to $9. It tastes identical, too — creamy and rich, with sharp cheddar and big florets of broccoli in every bite. The Giovanni Rana fettuccine Alfredo is great for nights when I don't want to think about dinner. Kachelle Pratcher At $14.97, the Giovanni Rana chicken fettuccine Alfredo is one of the more expensive items on my shopping list, but I get multiple meals out of one bag. It saves me from ordering takeout after long workdays and tastes homemade. The Little Salad Bar Caesar kit comes with everything I need for an easy lunch. Kachelle Pratcher The Little Salad Bar Caesar-salad kit comes ready to eat with chicken, romaine, and dressing already in the bowl. This is the kind of item I'll make a special trip to Aldi to buy. Chomps mini turkey sticks are always in my Pilates bag. Kachelle Pratcher I always grab a six-pack of Chomps mini sticks for $6.90. These antibiotic-free turkey sticks have 5 grams of protein per serving, making them an ideal snack to enjoy after a tough Pilates class . Plus, they're not too salty or smoky, which I really appreciate. I always enjoy sipping on Health-Ade kombucha. Kachelle Pratcher I really love the Health-Ade kombucha, which comes in different flavors — my favorite of which is the pink-lady apple. It's crisp, slightly tart, and has the right amount of sweetness from the apple flavor. When I don't have time to head to the drive-thru, I reach for a bottle of Starbucks iced espresso. Kachelle Pratcher The Starbucks iced espresso is the perfect alternative to brewing my own coffee or spending time and money at the drive-thru. The mocha flavor is always in my fridge, but I've also seen vanilla and caramel-macchiato versions at Aldi. Read the original article on Business Insider
