Jürgen Klopp has been appointed as the new head coach of the German national football team. He has expressed a strong commitment to restructuring the federation and improving the team's performance on the global stage.
Why it matters
Klopp is one of the most successful football managers in the world, and his appointment is a major development for German sports.
After the failure and subsequent sacking of Julian Nagelsmann, Germany had to go out and get a new coach for the national team. Thankfully, unlike some other footballing nations, the Germans had a top level coach just sitting around waiting for the opportunity.
Jürgen Klopp is now the new head coach of the DFB, and he plans to make changes. In his first press conference, he elaborated on what things will look like with him in charge.
