NASHIK: A 19-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Jalalpur village in Karjat taluka of Ahilyanagar district on Saturday, with police saying a note found at the scene cited disappointment over her NEET re-examination score.“Ankita was alone at home at the time of the incident, as her parents and elder brother had gone to Pandharpur for Ashadhi Ekadashi. Around 5.30pm, relatives living nearby checked on the house and found her hanging from a ceiling fan,” inspector Hanuman Gaikwad, of Karjat police station, told TOI.The police identified the deceased as Ankita Sangle, who had been preparing for NEET through online coaching classes. Gaikwad said a note, purportedly written by the student, was recovered from the house.Gaikwad added that the note stated she was taking the extreme step because she was disheartened by her performance in the NEET re-examination.
