The seizure highlights the growing challenge of inter-state drug trafficking and the use of modern distribution methods in Indian metropolitan areas.
The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with the Hussainialam police, arrested an alleged local drug peddler and a drug transporter and seized hydroponic marijuana, cocaine and LSD blots worth ₹13.24 lakh.
The accused were identified as Mohd. Saif, 31, a resident of Babri Alawa in Charminar, and Sameer Babubhai Waghela, 25, a resident of Kurla West in Mumbai. Police seized 120 grams of hydroponic marijuana, popularly known as OG, five grams of cocaine, 27 LSD blots, two mobile phones and a Maruti Suzuki Baleno car allegedly used in the offence.
According to the police, Saif allegedly procured the contraband from an absconding supplier, Aditya, based in Mumbai, through Sameer, who transported the drugs to Hyderabad. Saif allegedly sold the narcotics to consumers in the city through his local network at inflated prices to earn profits.
