Hyderabad Traffic Police book seven cases over fake number plates
The Hyderabad Traffic Police have launched an enforcement drive against vehicle owners using fake or tampered registration plates. Seven criminal cases have been filed, and authorities warned that non-compliant vehicles will be seized.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have registered seven criminal cases in the past week against vehicle owners allegedly using fake, tampered or unauthorised registration number plates, as part of an intensified enforcement drive.
The cases were registered at the RGI Airport, Kanchanbagh, Khairatabad, Osmania University, Jubilee Hills, Maheshwaram and Adilabad-1 Town police stations, with multiple vehicles also seized during the drive.
According to the Hyderabad Traffic Police, the violations involved fraudulent registration plates allegedly used to conceal vehicle identities, evade traffic enforcement and violate prescribed regulations. The traffic police reiterated that only government-approved High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) are permitted on vehicles. Custom alterations, missing digits and temporary stickers on registration plates are illegal, it said.
