Hyderabad’s Anil Reddy Vennam elected president of plastics body

Anil Reddy Vennam has been elected as the president of the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association for the 2026-27 term. He plans to focus on recycling, circularity, and improving the competitiveness of MSMEs within the plastics industry.
Why it matters
The leadership change in a major industry body signals a potential shift toward sustainability and waste-to-value initiatives in India's plastics sector.
Hyderabad-based industrialist Anil Reddy Vennam assumed charge as All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) president for a one-year term (2026-27) after being elected unanimously.
He is the first from the Telugu States to become the president and assumed charge at the association office in Mumbai. Mr. Reddy, who was senior VP previously, said he intends to make his tenure “a year of action”. The focus will be on greater public awareness, recycling and circularity, enhancing exports, improving MSME competitiveness and closer collaboration with governments.
“My immediate task will be to restore public confidence in plastics. There are good and bad uses of plastics. The future of the industry depends on encouraging the right applications, promoting recycling and finding productive uses for plastic waste,” he said in a release on Thursday.
