Hyderabad horror: Airline crew member 'raped' by cab driver on way to airport

HYDERABAD: A woman cabin crew member of a private airline alleged that she was raped by a cab driver on July 20 while she was en route to the airport. Police registered a rape case and arrested the accused on Tuesday. He was sent to judicial remand. According to the police, the incident took place at an isolated spot near an under-construction school close to the airport. On the pretext of attending nature's call, the accused allegedly took a detour to the isolated location. "He stopped the car near the under-construction school and got out. A little while later, he suddenly opened the rear door and forced himself upon the victim," an official from the RGI Airport police station said. After the alleged rape, the accused left the victim at the crime scene and fled in the cab.
