Husband found dead after wife’s early morning murder in Thembisa

The estranged husband of a 23-year-old Thembisa woman killed while on her way to work on Monday morning is suspected to have taken his own life.

Gauteng police spokesperson Brig Brenda Muridili said Boitumelo Gift Mashita’s husband was found dead inside his vehicle in Midrand.

“It is believed that he may have ingested an unknown substance, as no foul play is suspected at this stage. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” she said.

Muridili said the investigating team probing Mashita’s murder had linked the man to her death.
