Despite it being a hot sunny day, hundreds of people, including young and old, gathered at different parts of Madurai City to give a rousing welcome to Chief Minister, C.Joseph Vijay, on his maiden visit to the Temple City on Monday.
Braving the scorching heat, people who had gathered on the Panangal Road along which the Government Rajaji Hospital is located, and inside the GRH, hundreds of people, mostly youngsters and also patients of the hospital, had waited for longer hours to have a glimpse of the actor-turned-politician.
The youngsters holding their mobile phones and whistles kept the crowd engaged by howling only to force the otherwise tired people to eagerly look towards the entrance from where the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder was scheduled to emerge into the hospital premises.
