HSE Winter Vaccination Programme Gets Underway In Wexford

The HSE has launched its 2026-2027 winter vaccination programme in County Wexford, offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines to vulnerable groups. Health officials are urging those aged 60 and over, pregnant women, and healthcare workers to get vaccinated to prevent serious illness.

<p>The HSE's 2026-2027 winter vaccination programme is now underway in County Wexford, with flu and COVID-19 vaccines available to those most at risk of serious illness.</p>
<p>People aged 60 and over, those with certain medical conditions or weakened immune systems are being advised to get both vaccines this winter. Flu vaccination is also recommended for healthcare workers, pregnant women and children aged between two and 17.</p>
<p>An enhanced flu vaccine is available for people aged 65 and over, while children aged two to 17 can receive the free nasal flu vaccine through participating GPs and pharmacies. Some children will also be offered vaccination through their schools.</p>
