How to reach Bhogapuram airport for under ₹400: APSRTC’s Aero Express routes, timings and fares
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has launched a new 'Aero Express' electric bus service connecting Visakhapatnam city to the new Bhogapuram airport. The service offers 40 daily departures across two routes with fares capped at ₹400, providing a cost-effective alternative to private taxis.
Why it matters
This initiative improves public infrastructure and accessibility for air travelers in Andhra Pradesh while promoting sustainable electric transport.
With the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram having taken over full commercial operations on August 17, replacing the civil enclave at INS Dega , the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has rolled out a dedicated “Aero Express” electric bus service to give air travellers a cheaper and more predictable alternative to private cabs, fares for which currently range between ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 for the roughly 50-km run from the city.
The corporation began operating the service on August 16, a day ahead of the start of commercial flights at the airport, and formally inaugurated it on August 15, Independence Day. B.A. Naidu, District Public Transport Officer (Regional Manager), APSRTC, Visakhapatnam , said the early rollout was deliberate, so that passengers would not be left without transport on the airport’s opening day.
