'How is this a blatant lie?' Vedant Shrivastava, CBSE at odds again over revaluation

The controversy surrounding CBSE's Class 12 post-result process has taken a fresh turn, weeks after the Board admitted that it had mistakenly uploaded another student's Physics answer sheet under Vedant Shrivastava's roll number. This time, the Board and the student are publicly disagreeing over whether the nine-mark increase in his Physics score came after re-evaluation or after the earlier answer sheet mix-up was corrected.The latest dispute began after Vedant shared a video on X saying that he had received his re-evaluation result. According to him, he had applied for re-evaluation of 11 questions and his overall marks increased by only two — one mark each in Mathematics and Computer Science."I got my re-evaluation results. I had applied for 11 questions and only got two marks increased in my re-evaluation results," he said.In another post, Vedant wrote, "Hello @cbseindia29 the 9 marks increase in physics that you are talking about did not get increased through the process of re-evaluation, they are my true marks which you guys don't gave me earlier because you exchanged my answer sheet, and 2 marks were increased 1 mark each in cs and maths."CBSE responded by rejecting the claim in an official statement issued on Monday, calling Vedant's social media post "factually incorrect" and a "blatant lie". According to the Board, his theory marks changed from 46 to 47 in Mathematics, 35 to 44 in Physics and 61 to 62 in Computer Science, taking the total increase after re-evaluation to 11 marks.Vedant, however, argued that CBSE was treating two separate developments as one. Responding to the Board, he wrote, "How is this a blatant lie, the 9 marks increase in physics does not happen after the opening of re-evaluation portal and if the answer sheet of physics was not mine how the marks given on that answer sheet were my marks."The controversy began in May, when Vedant claimed the scanned Physics answer sheet made available by CBSE did not belong to him. He said the handwriting and attempted answers were different from his own. His posts went viral, with several students also raising concerns over CBSE's newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.After reviewing the matter, CBSE acknowledged that there had been an inadvertent exchange of answer sheets during the post-result process. The Board later sent Vedant his actual Physics answer book and informed him that action to update his result, wherever applicable, would be taken. Following that correction, his Physics marks were revised.After receiving his original answer sheet, Vedant said he noticed what he believed were further evaluation errors and applied for re-evaluation.
