How Alex Eala performed against Amanda Anisimova the last time they played with two now on collision course in Singapore

Alex Eala will be looking to cash in on a golden opportunity at the Singapore Open next week.

Following her third-round exit at the US Open, Eala will be back in action at the WTA 500 event, where there have been a number of withdrawals.

The most notable no-show is world number three Jessica Pegula, who was set to enter as the top seed in Singapore but pulled out of the tournament following a deep run at the US Open.

Pegula's withdrawal means the draw has been blown wide open, and Eala's chances of winning a second tour-level title have just increased.

But it won't be a smooth ride to the final for Eala, who is on a collision course with two-time Grand Slam finalist Amanda Anisimova.
