Houthi forces claim six attacks on Saudi airports, oil facilities

Houthi forces have claimed responsibility for six separate attacks on Saudi Arabian oil and military infrastructure, including airports and refineries. These strikes occurred despite recent diplomatic efforts between Saudi Arabia and Iran to de-escalate regional tensions.
Why it matters
The attacks threaten regional stability and global energy markets, undermining recent high-level diplomatic attempts to resolve the conflict in Yemen.
The announcement comes despite talks earlier this week between Iran and the Mecca pact countries in Tehran this week.

Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Pakistan all sent high-level representatives to the meeting but despite the positive statements, Houthi forces continue to launch missiles and drones at the kingdom and Saudi-backed forces inside Yemen.
