CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (ORMECO) has said that the House Committee on Legislative Franchises has approved a bill granting them a new franchise as the sole power distributor in the province.
House Bill No. 7001, authored by Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives (APEC) party-list Rep. Sergio Dagooc and Philippine Resilient Electric Cooperatives and Consumers Alliance (PHILRECA) party-list Rep. Presley de Jesus, granted ORMECO a franchise to construct, install, establish, operate, own, manage, and maintain distribution systems of electric power to end-users in Calapan City and 14 towns of the province.
