House fire believed sparked by charging EV

KUALA LUMPUR: An electric vehicle (EV) being charged is believed to have sparked a fire that destroyed a two-storey terrace house in Alam Damai here.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said it received an emergency call at 5.03am on Sunday.
“When firefighters arrived, the fire had engulfed the two-storey terrace house, with damage estimated at 100%.
“The fire is believed to have started from an EV that was being charged in the front area of the house,” he said in a statement yesterday.
No injuries were reported and the operation ended at 6.41am.
