The Chavakkad police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Assam for allegedly breaking into a house near the Manathala Block Office at Chavakkad in Keralam’s Thrissur district and attempting to steal valuables.

The arrested is Radheshyam Garh, 22, a native of Naharkatia in Dibrugarh district, Assam.

The incident occurred September 11, when the doors at both the front and back of a house owned by the complainant’s father, located behind the Manathala Block Office, were found forcibly broken open.

The complainant and his friend entered the house to inspect the premises and found a man asleep in an upstairs bedroom. They immediately alerted the police, who reached the spot and took the man into custody.
