Hours after blocking, X restores account of organisation hosting Bhagwat in New York

NEW DELHI: Hours after the X account of the organisation hosting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s New York event was suspended, the platform restored it, with the organiser saying “we got ‘botted’ by misguided opponents who tried to game the X algorithm and get our handle blocked”.The @AheadForum1 handle of American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD Forum) became unavailable Wednesday, three days before Bhagwat’s address at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theatre.Seeking restoration, AHEAD Forun had earlier said that the suspension “may have occurred in error” and its communications promoted “universal peace, oneness, harmony” and interfaith dialogue. No public evidence links X’s action to protests around the programme.Later, after the account was restored, it posted, “We are back up!... A big thank you to @X@Support for the prompt response, restoring our account and clearing out the bots. Now, back to what really matters: celebrating Universal Harmony and Universal Oneness @Uni1ness.”Bhagwat’s visit has drawn opposing responses.
