Hotel Shadab in Hyderabad sealed after food safety violations

Hyderabad's Hotel Shadab has been sealed by food safety authorities following the suspension of its FSSAI license due to hygiene and storage violations. The restaurant must rectify these issues within seven days to avoid permanent license cancellation.
Why it matters
Strict enforcement of food safety standards is vital for public health and maintaining consumer trust in the hospitality industry.
The Madina circle branch of Hyderabad’s iconic Hotel Shadab was sealed by the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) on Thursday, September 3, a day after the enforcement agency suspended the restaurant’s FSSAI licence.
The action followed inspections that found multiple violations of food safety and hygiene norms, including deficiencies in the storage and handling of meat and other food articles. TG SAFE had suspended Hotel Shadab’s FSSAI licence on Wednesday, September 2, after its inspection teams flagged the violations at the restaurant.
