Home Minister Amit Shah talks to slain policeman’s family in Kashmir; govt. to support studies of victim’s son

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha have extended support to the family of a policeman killed in a terror attack in Anantnag. The government has pledged to fund the education of the victim's son and provide assistance until he is eligible for a compassionate government appointment.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (July 24, 2026) spoke to the family members of the slain policeman Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who was killed in a terror attack on July 22 in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Meanwhile, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also met the family.
