Holiday declared in Kannur

The District Collector of Kannur has declared a holiday for most educational institutions due to adverse weather conditions, though professional colleges remain open. Meanwhile, flood-affected residents have begun returning home as rainfall eases in the region.
Why it matters
This reflects the administrative response to monsoon-related disruptions and the gradual recovery of affected communities.
District Collector has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in Payyannur, Taliparamba and Irrity taluks on Tuesday (August 4, 3036) in view of adverse weather conditions.
The holiday applies to all education institutions, including tuition centres and madrasas. However, professional colleges are exempted from the holiday, except those functioning as relief camps. Residential school will continue to function as usual.
Pre-scheduled university and public examinations, as well as interviews, will be held as planned without any change.
