According to deputy lord mayoral candidate Simon Behrakis, Hobart's Elizabeth Street Mall has suffered from a lack of investment.
He tells Ryk Goddard on Hobart Breakfast the mall is looking "very tired and drab" and needs to discourage "eshays" and anti-social behaviour.
"The amount of people that I hear say, look, I avoid at all costs going into the mall these days. It's not a very pleasant experience," he says.
