HMWSSB warns residents against water wastage, threatens to disconnect services

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has issued serious warning against water wastage, after imposing penalties in five such instances on Monday. Second time offenders will attract disconnection of water supply, it warned.

All the five penalised were residents of Jubilee Hills, and found to have been wasting water, during inspections conducted by the Board officials.

The inspections will be intensified in the coming days, and second time offenders will be penalised through disconnection of water supply, the note warned.

Using drinking water to wash floor and vehicles, leaving the tap open, and not shutting down the pump set even after overhead tank overflows are some of the instances of water wastage, as shared by the Board.
