A 45-year-old history sheeter of Adyar was murdered by a gang of five persons on Saturday (September 5, 2026) night.
Police said S. Kannan, a resident of Vannandurai in Adyar, was a B category rowdy with several murder and attempt to murder cases. He was also a member of the ruling TVK party. On Saturday night (September 5, 2026), a knife-wielding gang was waiting near his house and when he was going towards a shop, the gang waylaid him and murdered him. They later fled from the scene.
The Shastri Nagar police on being alerted sent the body to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post mortem.
