PETALING JAYA: Malaysian mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing came agonisingly close to making history at the China Masters, falling short in the final against China's world No 1 duo Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping.
World No 85 Pang Ron-Pei Jing, who were hoping to be the first Malaysian shuttlers to ever win a title at the China Masters since its inception in 2005, went down 19-21, 16-21 in 49 minutes.
