The precautionary measure has been taken in view of forecasts of extremely heavy monsoon rainfall, flash floods and landslides that could affect public safety.District administrations in Kangra, Mandi, Chamba and Sirmaur have ordered the closure of schools and other educational institutions for the day. The restrictions also apply to scheduled examinations, which have been postponed in the affected districts. Authorities have stated that fresh dates for the examinations will be announced separately.Educational institutions affectedIn Kangra, all schools, colleges, universities, Anganwadi centres and technical training institutes have been directed to remain closed.
