Highways Department begins preparatory work for Singanallur flyover
The State Highways Department has begun preparatory work for a new 170 crore rupee flyover in Singanallur, Coimbatore. The project is expected to take two years to complete and aims to improve local infrastructure.

The State Highways Department has commenced works for construction of a flyover at Singanallur in Coimbatore city.
With the Department issuing work order to the contractor, soil testing is going on at the construction site. “The contractor will submit a design based on the soil test. The Department will have to approve it for the actual works to start,” said an official of the Department.
The process is expected to be completed in two months. The total project cost is ₹170 crore, including about ₹114 crore for the construction work. The contract will be signed next week. The flyover construction will be completed in two years, the official added.
Regarding acquisition of land for the project, the official said additional land required for the project is minimum. It will go on simultaneously and efforts are on to complete it in two months.
