Highway authorities plan North-South Expressway lane closure at Menora Tunnel after slope collapse

Authorities in Malaysia are planning a lane closure on the North-South Expressway near the Menora Tunnel following a landslide. Traffic monitoring is ongoing as clean-up operations continue to address the road obstruction.

IPOH: The left lane of the North-South Expressway at KM263.6 near the Menora Tunnel here is expected to be closed as a precaution after a landslide.
Perak police chief comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said police, together with PLUS Malaysia Bhd and relevant agencies, are continuing to monitor the southbound site.
He said safety cones would be installed from KM262.8 to KM263.8 southbound, covering about 1km, as part of the proposed lane closure.
“Contraflow has not been activated for now, while traffic movement will be monitored from time to time depending on conditions at the site,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Sept 12).
