Here's how the iPhone Duo compares to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8

A comparison between the new iPhone Duo and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 highlights differences in design, durability, and camera specifications. While Samsung offers faster wired charging, the iPhone Duo features superior dust resistance and MagSafe wireless charging integration.
Why it matters
As foldable smartphones become more mainstream, hardware comparisons help consumers navigate the trade-offs between competing ecosystems.
CNET has a series of pieces comparing the iPhone Duo to three current Android foldables. While it’s a little frustrating to tackle the comparisons separately, it seems clear that the site views Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 as the device the Duo needs to beat.
That’s in large part because the two devices share similar passport-style aspect ratios rather than the tall and thin design of other foldables, and are priced only $100 apart …
Samsung’s device is a little thinner both when folded and unfolded.
One major problem with early versions of Samsung’s foldables is their vulnerability to damage through trapped dust and dirt, and the Fold 8 still has this weakness. Its IP48 rating means that it’s fully waterproof, but only rated against protection from particles larger than a grain of sand. The iPhone Duo, in contrast, is rated as fully waterproof and dustproof.
