Heavy to very heavy rainfall forecast in Telangana on September 23 and 24; red alert in eight districts on Wednesday

A well marked depression over the west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Benga l is likely to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to several parts of Telangana over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing red and orange alert for multiple districts for Wednesday (September 23, 2026) and Thursday (September 24, 2026).
According to IMD’s latest bulletin, a red alert indicating very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts on Wednesday.
An orange alert, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jangaon and Siddipet districts.
