The Ballari district police have made elaborate security arrangements and announced traffic diversions ahead of the BJP’s public meeting at the Municipal High School Grounds in Ballari on Thursday.

The meeting is being organised as the concluding programme of the BJP’s Ballari Chalo padayatra. The police said the arrangements had been made to ensure the meeting is held peacefully and to minimise inconvenience to the public.

According to directions issued by Superintendent of Police Suman D. Pennekar, three district Superintendents of Police, four Additional Superintendents of Police, 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 40 Circle Police Inspectors, 63 Police Sub-Inspectors, 120 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 960 Head Constables and Constables, and 200 Home Guards have been deployed for bandobast duty.

In addition, 12 platoons of the India Reserve Battalion and Karnataka State Reserve Police, six platoons of the District Armed Reserve and one Quick Reaction Team have been deployed.
