Heavy rains disrupt normal life, raise water levels in rivers, reservoirs
Heavy rains in north Telangana have caused water levels to rise in major reservoirs and rivers, leading to localized flooding and property damage. Authorities have closed schools and are monitoring the situation as inflows continue to surge.

Rains continued to lash several parts of north Telangana for the consecutive second day on Thursday, raising water level in rivers and reservoirs, and disrupting normal life in parts of the erstwhile Adilabad and Karimnagar districts.
Several reservoirs across the Godavari basin receiving heavy inflows flowing widespread rainfall in catchment areas. The Godavari at the famous temple town of Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district rose to around 28.70 feet late on Thursday evening.
At the Kadem project in Nirmal district, 16 of the 18 gates were lifted as inflows reached 1.38 lakh cusecs. The outflow was 1.46 lakh cusecs.
At the Taliperu medium irrigation project in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, 12 gates were lifted to release floodwater into the Godavari.
The water level in the Sripada Yellampalli project in Peddapalli district rose to 145.89 meters against its storage capacity of 148 meters following heavy inflows.
