LAHORE: Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms lashed Lahore and several other parts of Punjab on Sunday, bringing relief from days of intense heat and humidity.

In Lahore, rainfall continued across several areas, including Mall Road, Abbott Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Canal Road, Gulberg, Liberty and Kalma Chowk. Residents welcomed the change in weather, although electricity supply was disrupted in several localities.

Muridke and adjoining areas also received heavy thunderstorms, providing much-needed relief from the hot and humid conditions. Several LESCO feeders tripped even before the rain began, affecting power supply in different areas.
