Heatwave-like conditions persist in Central A.P., a few areas receive light to moderate showers
Central Andhra Pradesh continues to experience heatwave-like conditions, though some regions have received light to moderate rainfall. The India Meteorological Department has issued weather alerts as a low-pressure system moves across the Bay of Bengal.

Even as hot, humid and heatwave-like conditions prevailed in the central parts of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, July 16, isolated stations in the districts of Krishna, Palnadu, and Bapatla received light to moderate showers.
The India Meteorological Department, Amaravati, had issued an orange alert for the districts of West Godavari, Krishna, Bapatla, Prakasam and Palnadu as heatwave was likely on Thursday in these places, while yellow alerts were issued for the entire State, except for Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram Manyam. Parts of the State may experience hot and humid weather on Friday as well.
Meanwhile, there is also a well-marked low pressure over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts and it is very likely to move northwestwards across north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next two days.
