‘Healthy Kunnamangalam’ to map health, social welfare needs of residents

The 'Healthy Kunnamangalam' project is a year-long initiative aimed at mapping the health and social welfare needs of residents in the Kunnamangalam constituency. It uses digital data collection to inform targeted interventions for senior citizens, the disabled, and those with lifestyle diseases.
Why it matters
Data-driven governance and localized health initiatives can significantly improve the efficiency of social welfare delivery.
A year-long initiative to identify and address the health and social welfare needs of residents through ward-level data collection and targeted interventions is being planned in the Kunnamangalam Assembly constituency under the ‘Healthy Kunnamangalam’ project led by M.A. Razak, MLA.
The project will be implemented in collaboration with six local self-government institutions in the constituency. It seeks to identify the actual needs of residents in areas such as disability support, senior citizen welfare, lifestyle diseases, sanitation and education, and to formulate interventions based on the findings.
“The project envisages a year-long process covering data collection, consolidation, project formulation, implementation and monitoring,” says Mr. Razak. Its objective is to ensure that interventions across the constituency are designed around documented needs and deliver more effective support to residents, he adds.
