Tenkasi Superintendent of Police S. Ashok Kumar has placed under suspension a head constable for allegedly assaulting a woman police constable in the district.
Police sources said that head constable T. Ponraj, 40, of Kurukkalandarpatti near Paavoorchathram in the district, who had been attached to the Kadayanallur police station, recently got into a heated argument with a woman constable of the same police station.
The altercation continued even after they returned to their homes in the police quarters, and Ponraj allegedly assaulted the woman, who then filed a complaint with the Kadayanallur police.
