HDK urges Centre to develop Srirangapatna as a tourism destination

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy has urged the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to develop Srirangapatna as a tourism destination.
Mr. Kumaraswamy, who also represents Mandya in the Lok Sabha, met Mr. Shekhawat in New Delhi on Wednesday, and urged him to consider the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the “Destination Development of Srirangapatna” under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme.
According to a statement from Mr Kumaraswamy’s office, the Union Minister has urged the Centre to develop Srirangapatna, a historically significant place that is home to several temples and tourist attractions, including the renowned Ranganathaswamy Temple, into a major tourism hub.
