HDB reviewing ‘jumbo’ flat scheme after Telok Blangah unit listed for sale at $2.18m

HDB said the listed price of $2.18 million for the flat at 93B Telok Blangah Street 31 was “significantly higher” than prices for comparable transactions in the area.

Listen SINGAPORE – The Housing Board is reviewing a scheme that allows three-room or smaller flats to be combined into a jumbo unit after a flat of this type in Telok Blangah was put up for sale at $2.18 million.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, HDB said it understands the concerns from the public about the flat listing, and that the authorities are committed to keeping public housing affordable and accessible.

It added that so far, it has not received a resale application for the flat. The application will have to be submitted by the seller and buyer, who will then await HDB’s approval for the transaction.
