The Kerala High Court order setting aside the preventive detention of BJP Councillor from Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, R. Sugathan, under Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 2007 (KAAPA), is a vindication of the BJP’s stance all along that the cases foisted on Sugathan were false and politically motivated, BJP State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, at Poojappura Central prison, where he had arrived to receive the Yuva Morcha activits released on bail, Mr. Chandrasekhar said that the CPI(M) had misused the State police for 10 years to fix political opponents by foisting false cases on them and the V.D. Satheesan government was following the same path . He added that the people who have been watching these events unfold are fully conversant of the facts.
