HC quashes chargesheet against Hindu Munnani functionary

Quashing a case registered against a Hindu Munnani functionary who posted a video on X, wherein a foreign Pastor was dancing with a woman, with a caption that it showed the original state of foreign religious culture and calling upon Hindus to think it over, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court said the alleged caption was not meant for Christians and it was addressed to Hindus.
The court was hearing a petition filed by V. Kanal Kannan who sought quashing of the criminal case registered against him on the file of Judicial Magistrate II, Nagercoil. The chargesheet against the petitioner, the State President of the Art and Culture Wing of Hindu Munnani, revealed that in 2023 he posted the video on his X account with the caption. A case was registered against him and a chargesheet was filed in the case.
