HC dismisses bail petition of accused in Palani Math land case

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail petition filed by Jeyaprakash, one of the accused in the case of fraudulent registration of Palani Math land.

Justice K. Murali Shankar dismissed the bail petition filed by Jeyaprakash. Earlier, the court dismissed the bail petitions filed by four other accused in the case: Suspended Sub-Registrar Justin Manikandan Subramanian, D. Murugadass, who sold the land; and K. Vellathurai and D. Sethupathi, the land buyers.

In July, CB-CID arrested four accused in the case; Murugadass, Vellathurai, Sethupathi and S. Anwardeen who reportedly facilitated the deal. Subsequently, in August, CB-CID arrested two other accused in the case; Justin Manikandan Subramanian and Jeyaprakash who is said to be a document writer.
