The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court directed Tenkasi Collector to appoint a team of officers to ensure the proper maintenance of Courtallam falls in Tenkasi district.
A Division Bench of Justices C.V. Karthikeyan and R. Sakthivel directed the Collector to appoint a team of officers to continuously monitor the crowd, facilities to be provided for crowd management, steps to be taken to prevent accidents and the medical facilities available in the vicinity.
The court directed the team to monitor the proximity of the stalls and the nature of items they sell, ensure that the stalls do not have LPG cylinders or any other inflammable materials which would cause damage to the surrounding area and also to ensure that there was proper vehicle management at the site. Steps should be taken to ensure proper maintenance of the paintings in Chitra Sabai.
