A committee appointed by the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday visited the Ordnance Factory at Tiruchi (OFT) to inspect the action taken for removal of seemai karuvelam ( Prosopis juliflora ) species on the factory and estate premises in compliance with the HC direction.
During the inspection, Committee Chairman and retired Judge A. Selvam, accompanied by the Advocate Commissioner and State officials, reviewed the measures undertaken by OFT for eradication of the invasive species and restoration of the surrounding environment.
Retired Judge Selvam appreciated the proactive initiatives taken by the OFT management in implementing the direction of the High Court effectively in a time-bound manner.
