In a statement by Panettiere's father, shared by Panettiere's representative, he said:
"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her— and to the millions who watched her onscreen," the statement said. "We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss."
A child actor since she was cast in various commercials as an 11-month-old, Panettiere grew into a prolific actress starring in soap operas, TV series and movies, including "Remember the Titans," as well as "Normal" and "Scream."
