Hawk Fire remains 0% contained as evacuations continue across North Valleys, Northwest Reno as winds increase
The Hawk Fire in Reno remains 27% contained, with thousands of residents still under evacuation orders and significant property damage reported. Local authorities and utility companies are working to restore power and manage the ongoing emergency response.

A community meeting was held on the Hawk Fire at 7 p.m. on Monday.

People had the chance to ask questions and learn more about resources available to them.
NV Energy has restored power to around 3,000 customers who were de-energized due to the Hawk Fire.
Approximately 7,000 electric customers and 250 gas customers remain de-energized.
Before power can be safely restored, crews will need to ensure conditions are safe to do so. That effort must be coordinated with NV Energy and the Incident Management Teams leading the response efforts.
Several evacuation zones for the fire were downgraded on Monday evening along the north side of the fire, with the areas designated safe to return.
