A team of senior police officials led by Hassan Superintendent of Police Shubhanwita conducted a surprise inspection drive at Arya Mansion, a hotel on Hassan-Holenarasipur Road, on Saturday evening and took the management to task for violations, including serving liquor to minors.
During the visit, the SP noticed minors being served liquor. The team also found irregularities in the liquor licence: it had been issued in one person’s name but was being operated in another’s. The SP asked a hotel official whether he was unaware that serving liquor to minors is an offence.
The police instructed the staff to furnish CCTV footage to verify what had been served to the minors.
