Harish hits out at Bhatti’s response to BRS power questions

BRS leader T. Harish Rao has criticized Telangana Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for failing to address concerns regarding the state's power sector. Rao specifically questioned the government on coal availability, power generation shortfalls, and the imposition of true-up charges on consumers.
Why it matters
Energy management and utility costs are significant political issues that impact public sentiment and the economic stability of the state.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao questioned Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s statements on a series of serious questions raised by the BRS on the power situation in the State.
In a statement, Mr. Rao alleged that instead of addressing the specific issues raised by the BRS, Mr. Bhatti was producing unrelated documents and offering excuses. He said the Deputy Chief Minister should explain the government’s position on power supply, coal availability, generation capacity and the ₹5,420 crore true-up charges being imposed on electricity consumers.
He said farmers across rural Telangana were facing problems due to power supply issues, including low voltage that was damaging transformers and motors and imposing an additional financial burden on them. Farmers were also being forced to wait at their fields for power supply, he said.
