Hamilton Hill: Perth suburb in lockdown as police hunt for duo accused of shooting man on Owen Place

Terrifying vision has emerged of two men fleeing a suburban street following a shooting in Perth’s south, as police continue their hunt for two gunmen nearly 12 hours on. Dozens of WA Police officers swarmed Hamilton Hill after reports a 37-year-old man was shot in the stomach near the intersection of Yongka Road and Karda Way about 4.35am on Sunday. The man — who was accompanied by a male companion — fled across Forrest Street, past a large patch of dense bushland, towards Owen Place where he was located and given emergency first aid by a member of the public. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is in a serious but stable condition and has briefly spoken to police.
