Halle Berry’s ex Olivier Martinez accuses actress of abusing their child

A Los Angeles judge has issued a temporary restraining order against actress Halle Berry following allegations of child abuse made by her ex-partner, Olivier Martinez. The order modifies custody arrangements while the legal dispute over the welfare of their 12-year-old son continues.
Why it matters
High-profile custody disputes often highlight the complexities of family law and the public scrutiny surrounding celebrity private lives.
Halle Berry’s ex, Olivier Martinez, has been granted a temporary restraining order against the actress, after he accused her of physically abusing their 12-year-old son, Maceo.
A Los Angeles County judge on Thursday approved Martinez’s request for the order, which covers both him and his preteen son, according to court records viewed by People.
It requires the actress to stay at least 100 yards away from her ex, though she will be allowed to see her son.
However, the order modifies the former couple’s visitation arrangement, limiting Berry’s time with Maceo to Mondays and Tuesdays between 10am and 8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am and 8pm.
It said that partial custody is to be “continued to maintain communication between [Berry] and [Maceo],” while the judge also denied a request that Berry’s sobriety be monitored, citing “insufficient information.”
